Irritation after infection

For years now every time I've had an infection I get 'after effects' for months on end. Basically needing to go to the loo all the time altho I do try and just go every 3 hours or so, a burning feeling if I don't drink regularly and sometimes like small pin ***** pains. I drink at least 2l water a day and have even tried waterfall d-mannose but it doesn't seem to make any difference.

Has anyone else experienced this or have any advice?
